Dean Murphy, Baritone

Dean Murphy, Baritone, is currently at Master of Music candidate at Yale School of Music. He earned his Bachelor of Music degree from The Hartt School. At Hartt, he sang Tobias in The Hotel Casablanca, Frank in Die Fledermaus, and, Frank Maurrant in Street Scene. At Yale School of Music, he recently performed Demetrius in Britten’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream. In the 2014-15 season he performed Signor Deluso in Signor Deluso, Marco in Gianni Schicchi, Figaro in Il barbiere di Siviglia, Il Principe Yamadori in Madama Butterfly and Bob in The Old Maid and the Thief. During the summer of 2013, Dean was a participant in Martina Arroyo’s Prelude to Performance Young Artist Program, where he covered the role of Belcore in L’elisir d’Amore. In the summer of 2015, he performed the role of Top in Copland’s The Tender Land at Opera North in Lebanon, NH. Also in 2015, Dean appeared in a concert at Carnegie Hall.
