Jorge Prego, Tenor
A wonderful afternoon was had by one and all. Our full house enjoyed Jorge’s performance of Beethoven, Tchaikovsky, Liszt and more! See a little of what we experienced HERE.
A native of Vigo, Spain, Jorge earned his diploma in piano performance from the Conservatory of Music in Vigo in 2001. He subsequently earned a Graduate Performance Diploma and Master of Music degree in piano performance from the prestigious Hartt School of Music in Hartford, as well as graduate degrees in opera from Roosevelt University in Chicago and, most recently, Yale University. He currently is a candidate for a Doctoral degree in Fine Arts from Yale. As an opera singer, Jorge has performed throughout the United States, as well as in Italy, Poland, and Switzerland. In 2008, he won Second Prize in the Heida Hermanns International Music Competition and in 2014 was tenor soloist with the New Haven Symphony Orchestra in its performances of Handel’s “Messiah” in several Connecticut cities. Jorge is currently the Director of Music at St. Mary Church in Branford.
Tickets were $35, which included an informal reception following the performance. It was a great time for audience members and the artist to engage in lively conversation!
