Born South Korea, pianist Ye-Eun Kwag began playing at the age of four. She performed in major concert venues and has earned awards in several piano competitions, including Eumyeon Piano Competition (first prize), Korea Chopin Competition (first prize), Seoul Music Competition (first prize), Seongnam-City Competition (first prize), The Korea Times Competition (second prize) and Eumakchunchu National Piano Competition (second prize). Ye-Eun made her debut at age 14 performing as soloist with the Bucheon Philarmonic Orchestra in Bucheon. In addition, Ye-Eun participated in a number of music festivals, including Courchevel Music Alp Festival in France, Rebecca Penneys Piano Festival, Juilliard Music Camp, Busan Music Camp and Seoul National University International Piano Academy. Ye-Eun studied music at the Yewon Arts School and Seoul Arts High School. She completed her Bachelor’s degree in Piano Performance, studying with Professor Hee Sung Joo (summa cum laude) at Seoul National University. She was awarded a scholarship of academic achievement in every semester. She is currently pursuing her Masters of Music with Professor Enrico Ellisi at Eastman School of Music, where she holds an accompanying assistantship.
